The Best Plays in Madden 25

Empty Verticals

A staple in Madden is the verticals play. Four Verticals is always a unique play in the sense that it is good against Madden players of all skill levels! Due to its great spacing both being able to attack the sidelines and the seams, and its ability to be hiked quickly, verticals will always be a great play in Madden. This specific play, Empty Verticals, is different from the typical four verticals as you have 5 players out wide due to the play being called in an empty set. Having 5 players out wide allows you to maximize your spacing and truly be able to attack every area of the field. There are 7 playbooks with Empty Verticals, Ravens, Broncos, Jaguars, Chargers, Saints, Spread, and the Titans playbook all have Empty Verticals. 

Double Post

Unlike empty verticals, which were in multiple playbooks, this next play, Double Post, is only in the Colts playbook. In the Gun Bunch Offset formation, Double Post is another great quick hike play, with minimal hot routes required to be effective. We recommend putting your slot or point receiver on the bunch side, on a streak. After doing this, you’ll have the tight end on a flat route, the B receiver on a post which is being cleared out by a streak from the slot, the running back on an in route and the solo side receiver on a corner route. What makes this play so good is that it is both effective vs man and zone coverage, while also being able to attack all areas of the field. Double post is back as one of the best plays in Madden.

HB Off Tackle

The best run play in Madden 25, is the HB off Tackle play in the Gun Bunch TE formation. This run is only in two playbooks, Run Heavy and Seahawks. What makes this run the best run in Madden 25 is the fact that it's in a passing offense. Gun Bunch TE is one of the best passing offenses in Madden with spacing similar to the Gun Bunch formation. When you give a passing offense a run that the defense has to set up for, it makes the passing that much better.
