The Importance of Hitboxes
The main difference between Rocket League cars in terms of gameplay is their hitboxes. Hitboxes dictate your length, width, and height and it’s imperative to know your hitboxes when selecting your car. With all of this in mind, while it really is up to your personal preference as to which hitbox you prefer, the Octane hitbox is statistically the best and most versatile hitbox, giving you the ability to make the most plays on the ball!

The Fennec
Now that we know about hitboxes, let's now talk about which car is best with the Octane hitbox. There is a big debate in the Rocket League community about the Fennec vs the Octane. While the Fennec and the Octane both use the Octane hitbox, the Fennec has a slightly different design that many believe better suits the Octane hitbox, thus making it the better car. In reality, much of the differences are so subtle that it really is about personal preference, and that's the great thing about Rocket League. Some people will swear by the Fennec, and other’s the Octane. However, at the end of the day the best player will almost always show on Rocket League! We highly recommend trying both the Octane and the Fennec and testing this out for yourself!
The Dominus
If you want to go, “off meta,” and go away from the popular Octane and Fennec, the Dominus is the way to go! Before the emergence of the octane, the Dominus dominated the Rocket League meta, and was is so popular due to its unique ability to give the player controlling it the best chance for aerials. Aerials are such a key to rocket league, where much of it is played not on the ground but in the sky. While the Dominus is great for aerials, the drawback is that it does lack a little bit on the ground. However, if you’re an aerial player or someone that is trying to learn the aerial movements and gameplay, the Dominus could be for you!
