Rebirth Island Returns to Call of Duty

#RebirthDay highlights a great Season 3 launch

While season 3 of Call of Duty provided several exciting new updates that fans were excited about, there was none bigger than the return of the Rebirth Island map. Rebirth Island, which finally made a return to the historic Call of Duty game after a 2 year hiatus, was one of the most anticipated in-game releases in the history of the Call of Duty franchise. The #RebirthDay hashtag, generated millions of views on X with Call of Duty players sharing their favorite moments from the Rebirth Island map.

Fans were delighted to find out that this Rebirth Island map was almost the exact same as the original Rebirth Island map. Oftentimes when a map is remastered, Call of Duty likes to make some drastic changes to the map that changes the feel of the map and how it plays. However, with a map as iconic as Rebirth Island, Call of Duty made the right decision to leave it virtually the same. One of the notable changes however, is the addition of allowing players to actually swim in the water, which you weren’t able to do in the past on Rebirth Island.

This is so crucial to the gameplay because as new weapons and maps come out, the gameplay meta tends to change with it.
